Lilah Fear / Lewis Gibson Interview after Rhythm Dance at 2025 Worlds

Journalist:  Yuchen Wu

This is our last competition of the season. We said to each other when we went out, we’re going to have the most fun out there. I think if there’s no nerves, we’re worried, and for us it’s all about using it, knowing that adrenaline is like an extra superpower for us and it’s something that we can embrace and use as fuel to have an even better performance.

I love the old dress. Brown is actually my personal favorite. But the material, up close is shimmery and has these like nuances, but from a distance it just looked kind of plain, so we went for something brighter, and definitely more sparkly, just for the end of the season.

The season was a rollercoaster. It’s funny to say that because I think on the outside it looked so great and fancy. We got all the medals, but it’s been a tough season. We’ve had to change a lot of things in our programs. We never felt like we had the best training time.

And now that we’re here, the confidence that we feel in that is fantastic. We just want to put out two solid skates that we can look back on and be super proud of. We’re halfway there. We just wanted to be more ourselves this season. Our music choices were based on what we really like to skate to and trying to express our real personalities and show who we really are,.

I’m so happy for Phoebe and James. We’ve been training with them the other days this week and it’s always really nice to share that experience with another British team and also to see how they’ve grown over the season and over the years, so we know this is a big opportunity for them and we just wish them all the best.
